In the Sacred and Reflective Atmosphere of the Retreat Week

In the sacred and prayerful atmosphere of the retreat week, the brothers of the Congregation of the Missionaries of the Precious Blood in Vietnam came together to embark on a spiritual journey, returning to the very source of their vocation and mission.

Throughout the days of retreat, in addition to dedicating ample time to prayer, meditation on the Word of God, and the celebration of the Holy Eucharist, the brothers also had the opportunity to listen to and share about the precious heritage of the Congregation. This heritage is not merely a collection of vivid historical accounts of the life and mission of Saint Gaspar del Bufalo, but also the spirit, spirituality, and pastoral traditions handed down by previous generations. Through these reflections, the brothers gained a deeper appreciation of the identity of a Missionary of the Precious Blood—called to live fraternal communion, to commit themselves generously, and to go forth courageously to proclaim the Gospel in places where there remains a deep longing for life and hope.

From moments of sharing, dialogue, and communal prayer, the Congregation in Vietnam discerned concrete orientations for the future: strengthening community life in unity, deepening spirituality as the foundation of mission, expanding pastoral outreach to the peripheries, and, in a special way, accompanying the poor and those marginalized in society. The retreat week thus became a moment of grace, helping the brothers not only to renew their interior life but also to clarify new directions, so that together they may continue to write the ongoing missionary journey of the Precious Blood in the land of Vietnam with renewed trust and hope.
